Henry Wellington Wack

Henry Wellington Wack was an American lawyer, member of the New York bar and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, active as a writer in the early twentieth century. After several years of residence in Britain, he published The Story of the Congo Free State in 1905, a long defense of King Leopold II's administration of the Congo against the reform campaign then gathering strength in Britain and the United States. The book is now read chiefly as a document of the propaganda war over the Congo.
