Henry Blake Fuller (1857–1929) was an American novelist and critic from Chicago. He first won notice with The Chevalier of Pensieri-Vani, a delicate romance of travel in Italy, then turned to his own city with The Cliff-Dwellers and With the Procession, among the earliest realistic novels of urban American life. His later work includes Under the Skylights, Bertram Cope's Year, an early American novel to treat a homosexual theme with sympathy, and On the Stairs. Admired by fellow writers for his irony and craftsmanship, he never found a wide public.
