Harold W. Fairbanks

Harold W. Fairbanks was an American geographer and geologist based in California in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He wrote widely used school textbooks on geography, physiography and natural resources, among them Home Geography, Stories of Our Mother Earth, Rocks and Minerals, The Western United States, Practical Physiography and a geography of California. His Conservation Reader, published in 1920, introduced schoolchildren to the conservation of soil, water, forests and wildlife.
