H. Irving Hancock (1868–1922) was an American journalist and author of popular series fiction for boys. As a correspondent he reported on the Spanish-American War in Cuba, and he wrote early American books on Japanese jiu-jitsu and physical training. Under his own name he produced dozens of series novels about schoolboys, young engineers, cadets at West Point and Annapolis, and soldiers, among them the Uncle Sam's Boys stories of two young enlisted men working their way up in the United States Army, and a series imagining an invasion of the United States.
