Gustavus Hindman Miller was an American businessman and author who lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee, around the turn of the twentieth century. He is known for a single book, Ten Thousand Dreams Interpreted, or What's in a Dream, first published in 1901, an alphabetical dictionary of dream symbols and their meanings, prefaced by a defense of the significance of dreams drawn from scripture and history. Written for the popular market rather than for physicians or psychologists, the book was reprinted continually through the twentieth century and remains one of the most widely consulted dream dictionaries in English. Little else is recorded about its author.
