Francis Fisher Browne (1843–1913) was an American editor, poet and anthologist. Born in Vermont, he served in a Massachusetts regiment during the Civil War and settled in Chicago, where he edited the Lakeside Monthly and in 1880 founded The Dial, a literary review he directed for more than thirty years. He published The Every-day Life of Abraham Lincoln (1886), a biography assembled from the recollections of people who had known Lincoln, compiled the anthology Golden Poems by British and American Authors, and wrote verse of his own. The Dial moved to New York a few years after his death.
