Eric Parker

Eric Parker (1870–1955) was an English journalist, essayist and naturalist. Educated at Eton, he worked as a writer and editor in London and was for many years editor of The Field, the country sports weekly. He lived in Surrey, the subject of his Highways and Byways in Surrey, illustrated by Hugh Thomson, and wrote widely about the English countryside, shooting, birds and natural history, as well as books on Eton and a number of novels and collections of essays. His writing combines local history and literary association with close and affectionate observation of wildlife.
