Edward Berdoe (1836–1916) was an English physician and writer. After qualifying in medicine he practiced in London, and became an outspoken opponent of vivisection, writing pamphlets and a novel on the subject. He was also a devoted student of Robert Browning's poetry and an active member of the Browning Society, compiling The Browning Cyclopaedia, a guide to the poet's works, and other introductions to his thought. His Origin and Growth of the Healing Art, published in 1893, was a popular history of medicine from tribal practice to modern science.
