Edmund G. Gress

Edmund G. Gress was an American printer and writer on typography, editor of the trade journal The American Printer in the early twentieth century. He wrote The American Handbook of Printing and The Art and Practice of Typography, manuals that combined a history of the craft with practical guidance on the use of type faces and layout, and he was an advocate of good design in commercial printing.
