Dorothea von Biron, Duchesse de Dino (1793–1862), was a Baltic German princess, the daughter of the last Duke of Courland, who became the companion and confidante of Talleyrand. Married at fifteen to his nephew, she separated from her husband and from 1814 presided over her uncle's household, accompanying him to the Congress of Vienna and to the London embassy and managing his last years until his death in 1838. She later held the duchies of Talleyrand and of Sagan in Silesia. Her journal and letters, published by her granddaughter as the Chronique and in English as her Memoirs, are a sharp-eyed record of European politics under the July Monarchy.
