Charmian London

Charmian Kittredge London (1871–1955) was an American writer and the second wife of Jack London. Raised partly by an aunt in California, she worked as a stenographer, was an accomplished rider and pianist, and married London in 1905. She sailed with him on the small ketch Snark across the Pacific from 1907, an adventure she recorded in The Log of the Snark (1915), and wrote of their life in the islands in Our Hawaii (1917). After his death in 1916 she managed his literary estate at their ranch in Glen Ellen, California, and published The Book of Jack London (1921), a two-volume biography.
