Charles Madison Curry was an American educator who taught literature at the Indiana State Normal School in Terre Haute, the state's teacher-training college, in the early twentieth century. With his colleague Erle Elsworth Clippinger he compiled Children's Literature: A Textbook of Sources for Teachers and Teacher-Training Classes, published in 1920, a large anthology of nursery rhymes, fables, fairy tales, myths, poems and stories with introductions and bibliographies for each section. The book was widely adopted in American normal schools and went through several printings, and it remains a record of what the teachers of the 1920s thought children should read.
