Charles H. L. Johnston

Charles H. L. Johnston was an American author of books for boys in the early twentieth century, published by L. C. Page of Boston in its Famous Leaders series. Beginning with Famous Cavalry Leaders in 1908, he wrote Famous Indian Chiefs, Famous Scouts, Famous Privateersmen and Adventurers of the Sea, Famous Frontiersmen and Famous Discoverers and Explorers of America, each a gallery of short biographical sketches with illustrations, written in a vigorous, admiring style and dedicated to the memory of G. A. Henty, whose adventure stories he took as his model.
