Anna Botsford Comstock (1854–1930) was an American artist, naturalist and educator. Born in New York State, she studied at Cornell University and married the entomologist John Henry Comstock, whose books she illustrated with her own wood engravings, earning a place among the leading engravers of her day. In the 1890s she became a leader of the nature-study movement at Cornell, which sought to bring the study of living things into rural schools, and she was one of the first women to hold a professorship there. Her Handbook of Nature-Study (1911) has remained in print for more than a century.
