Abel Hendy Jones Greenidge (1865–1906) was a British historian of ancient Rome. Born in Barbados, he studied at Oxford, where he became a fellow of Hertford College and lectured in ancient history at Brasenose. He specialized in Roman law and institutions, publishing Infamia, a study of civil disgrace in Roman law, Roman Public Life (1901) and The Legal Procedure of Cicero's Time. He had begun a large History of Rome during the later Republic and early Principate, but only the first volume appeared before his early death at the age of forty.
